Fight With Gonaeli Rev

At the end of a campaign I wrote a few years back there was an epic fight scene that everyone loved and still talk about to this day.  The players were fighting a female demigod of destruction named Gonaeli (humanoid).  The fight took place inside an immense temple located on the elemental plane of destruction.  Inside this temple near the walls there were nine huge pillars that channelled energy into Gonaeli who was standing on a raised platform in the centre of the temple.

During this epic fight Gonaeli was firing her abilities at the players with impunity until the players were able to find a way to deactivate the majority of the pillars that were protecting her.  To make things more difficult Gonaeli had many cultish worshippers (called fire savants (think humanoid sorcerers)) who were defending the pillars and several massive fire hydras.

The pillars in the fight were all one of three different colours: red (damage), green (healing) and blue (magic).

The players also had shamanistic allies to help them during the battle.
