Iron Golem
Another illustration for the Bestiary! A golem is towering magical automaton that moves with ponderous but adamant purpose. Golems usually bear the likeness of an archaic, armoured warrior or are otherwise stylised to the taste of their creator. A golem is generally shaped in a humanoid form and made from iron, stone or steel (though could be make from other materials). It might look like it is wearing armour, or it may be covered in intricate magical or mundane symbols.  It may have designs carved into its limbs, or a head that is made to resemble a helmet or a beast. Regardless of how it may be sculpted (e.g. carrying a shield or weapon), these aesthetic alternatives do not affect a golem's combat abilities.

Golems are usually crafted for protection, guard duty or war. Sometimes though golems are crafted to suite some other purpose such as to act as guides or for entertainment. Golems generally cannot speak and make no sound other then the grinding their parts make when it moves. A golem is generally 3 metres tall and weigh an awful lot.

Stealing the Crown
A campaign that goes back a long time.  About halfway through the campaign the players had an epic fight with an ancient Liche.  During the fight one of the characters, Pip, a bard, a rogue and Jack of all trades kind of character went to attack the Liche in melee combat.  Unfortunately as he did so the ancient Liche cast a high level spell on Pip called 'Stop'.  This spell is a mental compulsion that forcibly stops a character from performing whatever action the caster desires.  In this case the Liche told Pip "stop attacking me".  Unable to continue his attack Pip quickly decided on another course of action that was not considered a direct attack: He stole the Liche's crown right off the top of his head.

Boiling in frustration the Liche's response was to cast 'Finger of Death' on Pip (one guess to know what that spell does).  Realising a moment too late the Liche remembered the magical enchantment that was on the crown: it was a crown of resurrection.  To the Liche's surprise and frustration Pip died then was immediately brought back to life exhausting the power of the crown and vastly reducing the Liche's chances to survive this fight.

Basilisk
Hello Deviants!

I've started writing and commissioning pictures for a new chapter in Ascendant Destiny! Due to popular demand I am writing a Bestiary for the book that will be released when the final version is published later this year! The second monster is the terrifying Basilisk!

Dodging traps in Anaba
It was toward the end of the fourth time I had run this particular campaign.  This was the second campaign I ever wrote and one of my most successful campaigns as I have run it four times.

The characters had finally found the legendary Cave of Anaba, a dangerous cave hidden in the Matenda Desert that can only be opened with the legendary dwarven artifact The Concordant.  This cave had been built long ago to protect one of Crayne's most powerful natural magic anchors (a place where the magic realm and the material realm are very closely connected and thus magic flows through it).  The players were hunting a powerful vampire who wanted to use the power of Anaba to cause a meteoric cataclysm over the peaceful land of Malia.  This cataclysmic event could only take place on the first minute of the new millenia and required a complex ritual to complete.  To make things worse the players only had 15 minutes until midnight and the cave was full of traps.  The players had no time to take it slow!

The players had just survived a balancing trap in the first room of the dungeon, were they had to balance on the surface of a 30m long slippery, sand-covered stone carving of a snake whilst over the top of an 'bottomless' pit.  The players now had an ominous wide corridor that was strangely well lit ahead of them.  The corridor had suspicious small gaps in the walls where it looked like things could pass through.

Neela
Another one of Ascendant Destiny's backers has their character in the book! This is Neela, a hunter who kept to herself.  Highly dexterous, with a keen eye, but little regard for social graces.
Neela wore a hooded cloak and wielded a large bow.  She wore leather armour, with many straps, buckles, knives and hidden pockets.

Hello fellow Deviants,

In this Gallery I will be showing pictures that I have commissioned by other artists for my upcoming independently published RPG rule book, Ascendant Destiny. I have been using, play-testing and improving this RPG system for over 14 years. My goal is to see other people using this system and enjoying it. I would like to make something professional looking that I can be proud of, and to see others out there to get as much enjoyment out of it as my friends and I do. The artists who are helping me in this journey are amazing and you should definitely check out their other stuff.
